Riviera is one of those shows about which one could almost write: "So bad it's good." But not quite because it's mostly just bad.
Indeed, amid all the pampered beauties and stubbly playboys, it was hard to find anybody to like, let alone root for. By the end, I was willing that rampaging boar to decimate the lot.

Dec 26, 2020Season 1 was just ok. Season 2 was like a good train wreck, terrible, but you can't look away. From Neil Jordan, one would expect much better writing. The main characters aren't believable.

Dec 03, 2020Where do you start with this one?! Season 1 was quite good, the scenery and decadence of wealth compels one to keep coming back but in truth that just covers up some truly horrendous acting, terrible script writing and flimsy characters. And yet I really enjoyed it! I'm guessing the special effects budget was just that, budget, the boat explosion and CGI was reminiscent of a roger moore james bond movie! And yet I really enjoyed it! Season 2 was the best of the 3, some good bad characters and again aside the dodgy acting and odd script it was a good twisting tale of rich and twisted anarchy with a strange nazi sub plot! Season 3, the worst of the acting by far and a very strange turn of events leading Georgina in to a completely far fetched world of Argentinian political conspiracy which somehow linked some of the characters from the actual French Riviera and seasons 2, in Argentina! utterly bizarre yet watchable. I probably wouldn't recommend it or admit watching it but secretly hope someone I know is in a similar quandary and we can talk about it in secret without outing ourselves as people who like this kind of nonsense 3.5 stars, at times a 4 and at times a minus 11 Watch it, you'll see what I mean!

Sep 14, 2020Does not disappoint. Infuriating while keeping you on the edge of your seat. Some outcomes easily predictable, others will blow your mind. Seems like no one will ever get their happy ending with this show!
-
Sep 20, 2019Stylish and totally entertaining
-
Aug 23, 2019Aristotle thought that scenery could not improve a play. He may be wrong. The luxurious setting and beautiful clothing make the constant tragedies even harder to watch.
-
Aug 01, 2019good acting and pretty locale can't remedy a bad script that does not make you care
