I've watched this since my local OTA channel started a few months ago started playing 2 episodes a weekend. This was put in place where I used to watch Bones, and then The Closer. Great, a new woman-centric mystery, I thought. I've stuck with it till now, but I have to ditch on this nonsense. Talk about "derivative." I think the writers pull out old episodes of other mysteries and borrow the salient facts of the plot and write their own version. I've seen several Bones plots hinted at through episodes, and they must also be watching some kind of slasher or serial killer programs because they keep going back to the same plots. It's all way too local, these serial killer-after-Rizzoli stories and Isles-chooses-men-poorly. Three members of the same family working together in the same building also smacks of nepotism that I suspect one doesn't find in the Boston PD these days. Let me be clear: there need to be more programs that star women, and there are appealing aspects of this program, but the writing stinks. It's unimaginative, pulling soap-operaish plots from a thin file and recycling these actresses through each season. Kudos to Harmon, Alexander, and Bracco for having relatively normal lives (homes, spouses, children) and playing attractive smart women "of a certain age." But the creator and producers have a lot to answer for. They have fallen down on making this a much better program, as it could be. I vote you keep the cast and replace the producers and writers.
