What to Know

Critics Consensus

The feminist themes of Roar don't carry smoothly across some installments, but the sheer amount of talent on hand comes through loud and clear.

Roar has built a daring experiment, bringing in a diverse group of female writing, directing, and acting heavyweights -- which makes the series almost fascinating in its failure to deliver. Go to Full Review

Streaming services are glutted with anthology series, but we still needed this one. Truthful, validating and sometimes just plain magical. Go to Full Review

A series with certain traits of audacity that wants to make a statement about female empowerment in these revolutionizing times, but often does so with more clumsiness than intelligence. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Rachel M Aug 16 I found Roar on Apple TV to be intriguing and entertaining until the “duck episode.” The graphic love story between a woman and a duck crossed the line from quirky to grotesque, leaving me more disturbed than entertained. As an animal lover, I found it uncomfortable and off-putting. I cannot recommend this episode, and it tarnished my enjoyment of the series as a whole. See more Linda C 07/11/2022 Strange and awful. Kept hoping it would get better. It didn't! Finally left after Episode 5. Ugh See more 05/22/2022 Total rubbish. Do not waste your time to watch it. See more andrei d 05/16/2022 Does very little with a lot See more Tidge H 05/02/2022 Four stories Into this series, and I find it extremely disappointing. Goes to show that no matter what headliners you have cast in a series, it does not guarantee success. What a bummer... See more 04/30/2022 Disappointing. This is a very "woke" show. Boring, confusing and I'm surprised this is on Apple plus. Their other programs are of the highest quality so I don't know why they decided this would be good See more Read all reviews
