It's worth a watch. Even as an adult. See more Mike P 02/12/2024 This plays like a poor man's Smallville; even though Roswell came out first. (And even the titles are similar). Another show about a very handsome young man with supernatural powers; (who looks alot like Tom Welling); who's an alien; who's a reluctant hero; who makes all the girls swoon; blah blah blah... I think the problem here is that this is so similar to Smallville; and whereas Smallville was excellent; this is just ok. It sort of pales by comparison. Also Smallville had the bonus of being a DC spinoff show; so they could do all that cool stunt casting with Christopher Reeves, and Lynda Carter; etc. Infact most of Smallville was built on Mehta stuff like that...plus the thrill of walking through a modern take on Superman growing up...Whereas Roswell had none of that. And it really suffered by comparison...It felt like PB and J without the Jelly...It was just missing something. And honestly, though I watched it a few times; it failed to reel me in. (Whereas Smallville did like immediately). I think all that that's why it got cancelled so quickly, unfortunately... Overall: thumbs down 👎 nothing special here to recommend it. The character development in this first season is fantastic and the sci-fi elements of the show a lot of the time come second to that and are blended well into the story. I would definitely recommend watching this first season for sure. I couldn't watch the remake. I tried and couldn't take it so I watched the original instead. See more 12/28/2021 Overall it's a fun show. Kinda like Veronica Mars - teenagers being adventurous and absurdly smart. The lead, the girl is an idiot. She's so indecisive and always be like "Oh I'm just a delicate flower I don't know what to do". Snap out of it dumb b. The main character's best friend is what really saves the show. She makes it humorous and quirky otherwise this whole thing would've been a sh*t show. See more 10/19/2020 Sure, it's been twenty years but this Roswell will never get old. It's a twist on a classic love story and is compelling as each character discovers who he or she is and tries to find his or her place in the world. I still watch these episodes today. I was sooooo excited for the reboot of Roswell (the new series that started last year) but I soon found out that's it's a long cry away from what this one was and I was highly disappointed!! The character names are the same but they completely missed the heart of who each character was. I'm definitely in need of more Roswell but please give me more Shiri, Jason, Majandra, Brendan, Katie, Nick And Bill! Please!! See more Read all reviews
