After a decade away from home, Liz Ortecho returns to her native Roswell to care for her ailing father. When she arrives, she reconnects with her high school crush Max Evans, who is now a police officer. Their chemistry is electric, but Liz soon learns something shocking: Max and his siblings are aliens who have kept their abilities secret their entire lives. As they grow closer, Liz struggles to keep the truth from her best friend Maria, and her high school ex, Dr. Kyle Valenti, but concealing the siblings' true identities is more important than ever, as a long-standing government conspiracy and the politics of fear and hatred threaten their lives.

For a show with a stellar cast and a wide array of fascinating characters, it still struggles to get it right after all these years. Go to Full Review

hila r 05/29/2023 It improved!!?? Somehow better. See more jon c 09/06/2022 ‘Roswell: New Mexico' is back again for its 4th and final season on the CW Liz, Max, Michael, Isobel, Kyle, Rosa, and Maria all faced their biggest challenge last season with a clone version of Max in one of the alien pods Jones' was supposed to lead their species planet but a coup was established Liz and the others fought a hard battle attempting to stop him becoming invincible along with the power of a mysterious radio counting down every couple of decades bound with alien dna Rosa got used to her newfound abilities while Maria's visions were affecting her brain activity The finale all seemed victorious after Jones was defeated for good; but the cliffhanger showed there's a lot more Turns out another alien landed on Earth this time in the form of a young female approaching another woman who actually knows Liz Ortecho from her teaching days….this woman the alien approaches is none other than Dr. Allie Meyers; the actress who originally played Liz on the older show, Shiri Applebee! Season 4 opens with Max and Liz in a really good place right now, the new female alien arrives in town talking about her Triad's purpose, Liz is teaching classes, Isobel teaches yoga as well as dating a photographer named Anatsa and a strange storm in the sky has arrived Max wants to propose but can Liz be sure to drive off into the sunset of happiness before the next big thing shows up keeping them both in Roswell? Maybe their love can find a way But he needs to stop making her the banner of his decisions, both of them have to be willing to meet each other for everything the face together Allie's wife Shivani a tech billionaire stops by to make Liz an offer, the new alien arrivals are seeking their leader that looks like Max and say someone named Afeisha will rise again Isobel has to try as hard as she can to keep her girlfriend from finding out the truth of aliens but it's hard for her considering mindscaping is the only option This new female alien is named Teska, she shares a psychic connection with Max and wants him to unlock his potential But she also might have a connection to Isobel's past Liz also has to confront what's holding her back seeing a part of herself being stronger and callous and viewing Max as an obstacle leading to a life of mediocrity She's also fighting a difficult addiction that makes her smarter but less with feeling Life's an experiment, don't let happiness be a handcuff, the thing about legends is that they never fade, at a certain point money gets boring, transparency takes courage, life is like water because it takes many forms, words can't change painful realities, expectations only hold us back, does science rebuild the work that god ignores, we shouldn't become casualties to our grief, are security singularity and focus what a civilization needs?, there's a thin line between determination and obsession, love is a constant state of breaking and remaking The finale leads to Liz and the others making their toughest decisions with an event called the Alignment and Shivani taking extreme measures to save someone dear regardless of the consequences The finale battle was pretty intense but it should've been closer to being the last scene It's definitely sad that one of the major players makes the choice to leave Earth to save his own home I'm really let down that they couldn't make this version of Roswell go on any longer but it did last longer than the older one Truly enjoyed many of these new actors and actresses bringing life to these characters In many respects this reboot made things much fresher and more modern but the older show will definitely leave a bigger impression there's no denying that So long ‘Roswell: New Mexico', thanks for bringing back the teen aliens landing on earth for a new generation Both the new and old versions will stick with fans across the stars See more 06/28/2022 Roswell, NM has evolved very well with each season. The filmography, director guidance, and overall performances are strong! See more Tristan H 06/16/2022 So finally Roswell New Mexico is ending. And considering it lasted one more season than the original show doesn't mean it was in any way better. If anything this was almost an insult to the books, and was always inferior to the original tv show. Some actors and actresses, definitely grew in the acting department, but most did not. I guess one actress that might happy is Amber Midthunder (Rosa Ortecho), considering she's heading the new Predator movie Prey. That from the trailer alone already looks like a flop. The idea of Prey is actually good, until you see that it's going to be Amber battling the seven foot tall Predator all by herself. And if you've seen the first Predator movie you already know how laughable that is. As for Roswell New Mexico you don't need to be a genius to understand that this last season is going to leave a ton of things unanswered. Making this whole journey a huge waste of time. Maybe if they hadn't wasted so much time with Jones, and moved things along faster in season 3 perhaps now season 4 might have delivered something that might have saved the show in another network. Perhaps. Or perhaps not seeing almost everything was so frivolous in this show. Relationships were a mess, dynamic between characters was simply not there, and considering the background of the characters, this seems to forever be a doomed story, always cut short before it even gets close to the bigger picture. So farewell Roswell New Mexico. Can't say I'm going to miss you. See more Read all reviews
