Business is still thriving for HankMed as season two finds new complications. Hank (Mark Feuerstein) develops a romantic interest in rival doctor Emily (Anastasia Griffith), much to the chagrin of Evan (Paulo Costanzo). Paige (Brooke D'Orsey), the daughter of a conservative military officer, enlists Evan as her pretend boyfriend to meet the family but he soon discovers true feelings for her. A difficult relationship with Hank and Evan and their father Eddie Lawson (Henry Winkler) becomes more strained when he moves to the Hamptons to rebuild his connection with them. The fact that [Winkler's] sly-dog Eddie R. has now taken up with Mrs. Newberg only added to the amusement to come in future episodes.

The first season of "Royal Pains" boasted the title of "the best performing freshman year of a cable series ever." It's easy to see why and it feels, halfway through season two, that the show is still building momentum.

Royal Pains has meandered a bit this season... but my love for all things Hank and Evan remains unabated.
