Without losing sight of the sorrow of Maddie’s story, School Spirits manages to be surprisingly sparky and fun -- proof positive that there are new stories to tell about the institution no one would ever want to be stuck in for their entire afterlife. Go to Full Review

Sometimes the familiar trappings of the high-school genre can open the door for a show to do wilder and more inventive things than more allegedly mature shows. School Spirits, unfortunately, takes no such liberties. Go to Full Review

While the show can be uneven at times, things really pick up in the finale and when they explore more of the lore of the ghosts. They go to some unexpected places that will definitely have you hooked by the end. Go to Full Review

While initially unsure of how I felt about the show, it gradually won me over with its intriguing storytelling and layered character development. Peyton List delivers a strong lead performance, showcasing her ability to carry emotional weight and anchor the series. While there were moments early on where the tone or pacing felt a bit uncertain, the show ultimately finds its rhythm and builds into a suspenseful, engaging mystery. The supporting cast is a bit of a mixed bag—some performances are memorable and well-suited, while others feel miscast or forgettable. Still, the ensemble works well enough to support Peyton’s central arc, and the narrative holds together as the season progresses. Though I haven’t started Season 2 yet, I can confidently recommend Season 1. It offers a fresh take on the afterlife-meets-high-school genre and leaves you curious to see where the story goes next. If you enjoy character-driven mysteries with supernatural twists, School Spirits is worth the watch. See more Justin G Jun 4 What a waste of time. The show never gets anywhere. Season 1 ends with no resolve and surprises you could never guess because no information was given until the very end. Disappointed, will not watch season 2. See more Maisy S May 1 Absolutely loved the series! The story line was super exciting and not at all predictable, which makes the series even more exciting. what i really enjoyed and not at all expected when i stared watching it, was the way this all got filmed, like the lighting and color, it really makes it thrilling and fun to watch. Super entertaining, you are really drawn into the story of the characters and the story of the series as a whole. Really recommend this one !
