Scream Queens isn't any ordinary show. It doesn't do just one Halloween episodes. It does three. That's right, we're officially two-thirds of the way done with Scream Queens Halloween trifecta.
[Scream Queen's] strength remains within the characters and the comedy - even if most of the best laughs have nothing to do with the narrative.
Cheer up, pledges: Halloween may have been canceled but the Chanels still know how to celebrate in style, as this week's episode of Scream Queens offers up some devilish delight and quite a few cheeky horror film references.
The race for president is heating up. The race for Kappa Kappa Tau president, that is... And despite being stuck in a pit, it-puts-the-lotion-in-the-basket style, Zayday is running a formidable campaign against the incumbent, Chanel.
There was a lot of busywork this episode, but it ended up resulting in not that much forward momentum for the plot.
The greatest tension in any Murphy/Falchuk show will never play out between characters onscreen; it will be the struggle as its creators attempt to manufacture camp.
But it's the episode's final scene that will likely have viewers talking tomorrow... or whenever they eventually get around to watching it on their DVRs or online. Could Gigi really be the mastermind behind all of the Red Devils?!
After a heart-stopping moment in which I really got nervous that Red Devil would kill off my baby girl Gigi, we got a big reveal: GIGI is in cahoots with Red Devil!... The plot thickens. Good for you, Gigi!
The series said farewell to at least one throwaway character, narrowing down the field of potential kills, while also throwing in several horror tropes and making fun of their sheer ridiculousness.
Emma Roberts continues to slay (literally/figuratively) in the role of Chanel Oberlin.
