Scrublands is an engaging, well-made piece of work that doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel. Go to Full Review

Les N @Vegas628 Sep 22 Started well, but finished less so See more Albertine M @albertnie Sep 17 This show kept me guessing: Was the killer priest a truly evil guy or a sympatehic character? Lies and evasions abound. It's a little bit soapy, and the acting is uneven, but there's enough twists and shockers to make this a fun watch. The sound track is excellent and enhances the plot. There's one scene, an extended sermon by Father Byron that is truly haunting. It is a flashback and comes after we know what he did. The sermon is about suffering and loneliness, and the way it's delivered was chilling. Australia loves to make these small town murder mysteries and in general they're great, but this is a pretty weak effort. See more Phil D @RetroBorg Apr 29 If you like other Australian crime dramas like Black Snow, Troppo, Mystery Road and Jack Irish you will like Scrublands. See more mrs. C 02/12/2025 Really enjoyed watching this drama, having only 4 to the point episodes made it very real. I could see this situation with a good, loving, kind helpful priest happen. Even though he was not a priest at all but must have been brought up as a Catholic and taught all our Catholic truths by his parents and his Catholic School. See more Read all reviews
