SEAL Team's solidly written first season offers compelling characters and hints at broader potential, even if it's somewhat undermined by an overall sense of predictability.

SEAL Team will serve its procedural mission just fine, but the show could have more of an impact if it was let off the leash.

You'll see where it's going long before it gets there, no matter how far off the missions might be.

[It's a] perfectly serviceable [form] of escapism that should hit that NCIS sweet spot for people who like shows anchored by tough guys who are just vulnerable enough partnered with vulnerable guys who are just tough enough.

You know what you're getting -- and, if you're OK with that, you'll continue to watch the show.

SEAL Team is built for success and will probably find it. But like the members of the SEAL Team, it's better on the battlefield than on the home front.

May 29, 2018 | Full Review…

It makes for an uninspired and forgettable viewing experience.

Sonny is definitely the wildcard of this group. It remains to be seen if he can continue to keep his emotions in check in future episodes.

Jan 15, 2019 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

What's most trustworthy about this series, for now, is the presence of David Boreanaz as the star.

Sep 27, 2017 | Full Review…

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's successful enough to inspire a spinoff down the road.

Sep 25, 2017 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

There's nothing noteworthy about the two new military shows, NBC's Brave and CBS's Seal Team.

Sep 22, 2017 | Full Review…

Like the other military drama shows debuting this fall, SEAL Team is meant as a tribute to our fighting men. It's solid, if not going into new territory.

Sep 22, 2017 | Full Review…

... there's something very compelling and warm about this show that I wasn't expecting.

It's a really good mix of action and drama, and looks like a show with a big budget. I also feel very connected with the characters.

Whole thing feels very realistic. They even have ex-military special ops guys in cast and as producers.

  • Jan 29, 2019
Amazing show love it, pure action without all the pc that is expected from most shows nowadays.
  • Dec 18, 2018
Refreshing to see a military-themed show that does some homework and values counsel from the military community. Granted, this has its share of artistic license and drama injected, but it does a much better job than most others.
