While the singer does get more of the spotlight in Part Two, she's still singing backup to the rest of her siblings in what remains more of a family drama than a revealing biopic series. Go to Full Review

They took one of our rare Latina icons... and weakened her instead of building her up. I know that wasn't her family's intention but it is the result nonetheless. Go to Full Review
Khadjiah Johnson Black Nerd Problems 05/25/2021
Selena in this series served as a dimly lit star in a galaxy. A narrative of her family telling her no until she moves into the world, there was much to offer and they only gave us 25% of it. Go to Full Review

Season 2 brings an improvement. While it's obvious why the second part works better, it's still an improvement. Go to Full Review

Selena's music is still vibrant and real, the least a whole series could do is truly explore the person behind the melodies. Go to Full Review

Selena: The Series ends with a strong finale episode, but the path there was filled with potholes...I don't think there is any truer example as to why we all need to let Selena rest. Go to Full Review

The actress played Selena really well, the story broke my heart just like real life it was a captivating and moving story and the actors were phenomenal and really brought her story to life. One of the best biopic series stories I have ever watched couldn’t recommend it enough. See more 07/29/2022 I will watch anything Selena. I loved how the series looked back into her past, plus got her in much better detail than the movie. Jlo was a better actress, but the series was a better show ase of her life than the movie was. See more Fennett M 06/25/2021 Part 2 of 'Selena: The Series' dives head first and wastes no time getting into the life of Selena, and especially the people around her. It can have its various flaws, often suffering from out-of-place scenes, spotty dialogue, lip and voice syncing off, questionable editing and green screen choices, and added bits you can tell were made for the show specifically. Nonetheless, it remains very charming in the memory of Selena and will often get in your feels. After all the character building, which it does quite well, it makes for an emotional and heart touching end to her story on all factors. At times, it wasn't the best interpretation of the life of the Quintanilla's, commonly having details drastically off, completely changed, or events that just never happened as confirmed by Selena's husband, Chris. The series makes for a good watch and way to past time, but it doesn't accurately depict Selena's life. A major let down to those who expected more. See more 05/29/2021 Great show for the whole family. I loved the first season, and the second did not disappoint. The end was kind of white-washed over, but understandable as it may still be fairly traumatic for some fans. See more 05/23/2021 I absolutely love this show! I loved that it went more into detail about Selena's life and her family's life. I always wonder what new music Selena would be making if she were still alive. I definitely give this a 10/10 wishing there could be more to the show. Absolutely great! Everyone should watch this show! See more Read all reviews
