Skins (UK): Series 7 Photos
Tv Season Info
as Effy Stonem
Skins appears only to have influenced television for the better, rather than adolescents for the worse.
Skins was a triumph of slick over substance. The floors echoed pleasingly to the sound of expensive footwear; the characters were deservedly pasty and horrible.
It was messy and ambitious, but it worked. In the TV landscape, Skins was a teenager - just like you.
Skins has changed the face of television. It helped launch the e4 network in the UK and created a whole new niche in television shows. The show is gritty, sexy, but most importantly, honest about the lives of teenagers.
Skins was a show always preoccupied with how things felt, rather than how they actually might have happened.
