Critics Consensus

A superb showcase for Zoe Lister Jones, Slip doesn't trip on its metaphysical concept and delivers an entertaining rumination on the road not taken.

The multiverse premise of Slip may be overly familiar, but it is handled here with a pleasing lightness of touch. Go to Full Review

Gradually, Slip transcends its absurd premise and becomes a layered, complex interrogation of whether the idea of soulmates is a helpful ideal for which to strive, or a myth that dooms us all to failure Go to Full Review
Jenna Clarke The Australian 07/08/2023
It’s got the melodrama of a period drama with more attitude and sass than Jane’s Addiction and Jane Austen combined. Go to Full Review

Well performed, sparky, inventive and funny, incorporating sundry themes, from childhood to fear of motherhood to ghastly celebrities, micro-dosing and Buddhism. Go to Full Review

It's a plot device that works in other mystical narratives like Russian Doll and Everything Everywhere All At Once, and like those popular takes, Slip has a strong female-centric viewpoint and messages it wants to impart. Go to Full Review

TuShea T @TuShea Jun 6 The dialogue is absolutely awful. It’s so far up its own hole that you can’t see sunlight. Nobody talks like this. Come out from under your rock and spend some time IRL. It’s no wonder it was only one season. Who slept with who to get this drivel made? Terrible. See more Jazzmin H @jazzminbree May 11 Don't know what I was expecting but I guess I wasn't expecting this. A sci-fi that's a romantic dramedy. Definitely a first of it's kind. Completely different but reminds me a little bit of Dying for Sex but very far from it. The entire premise of inter-dimensional universes ruled or controlled by sex is an interesting way to make sci-fi female which sometimes feels those worlds don't collide. The characters were interesting and where they played in each world. The acting itself was good. Maybe too much sex was left in. Came off a little vulgar. With that being said, it definitely reminded me a sci-fi romance novel. Would I watch again? Maybe.... See more Andrew S. @AndrewScott Apr 23 Sweaty. Trying to hard to be profound. It wasn’t. See more Andrei D @RT74856639 09/17/2024 Gets a little too cute for its own good but Lister-Jones kinda rules See more Ally Moore J @RT60893932 04/05/2024 Not as good as some similar shows like it but is still a fun show. The star of the show is really good to watch alone. Decent performances from the cast. It is funny, sad and offbeat. I do not regret ever tuning to it one bit. It should not be overlooked. See more Al R @RT85661282 08/29/2023 If you're looking for a comedy, like the setup clearly suggests, keep looking. This is just misery and drama. Gave it a try for three episodes, then it got too annoying See more Read all reviews
