Oooh, Gary Oldman's character is so bad he farts and tells people about it. This series is derivative cutesy nonsense which, like Spooks, is desperate to rewrite international espionage as something peculiar to the London transit system. The title in all likelihood refers to its awestruck viewers.

What makes Slow Horses more interesting than other spy movies is the character portrayal and building. Each personality is created in such a vivid and interesting way that I can't stop laughing when listening to Lamb and Ho. The plot is a bit old-fashioned from the Cold War. One thing that is beyond my comprehension is why the housewife wants to fly into the Glasshouse? All in all, I watched each season twice and enjoyed each moment of it. I can't wait to watch Season 3 and 4!

Absolutely amazing. Dark humour, great writing, great directing and great acting. This was an incredible series with a tight narrative and some standout performances.

This is an enjoyable spy thriller, but it could have easily been a movie, not a TV series. There is some realism here mixed with a precisely dosed bit of pulpiness, especially in characterization of people like Jackson Lamb. Garry Oldman is terrific as Lamb and the character he plays walks gracefully the thin line between believable persona of an intelligence agent and a character from a noir movie. He reminded me of Harry DuBois from "Disco Elysium", to be honest, and that is a high praise. The rest of the crew in utterly unremarkable though and the character of Roddy Ho is a racist caricature, I am pretty sure. Plus his actions seem to be a grave misrepresentation of what hacking really involves. Oh well, at least there is the critique of white nationalism somewhere in this to balance it out. All in all "Slow Horses" are nothing to write home about, but one can easily enjoy it for what it is. Oh, some of the humor is quite funny too, I guess. But I expected more after the "New Yorker's" profile of Mick Herron that I have recently read.

A low-key spy thriller with twists turns, and characters you care about. I thought it started a bit slow, but it's not the usual spy show. Embrace these misfits and you won't be disappointed.
