Red, White And Blue offers no shocking conclusion nor any answers to Logan's quest, except to highlight the courage in raising questions in the first place.

The excellence that comes from McQueen's efforts as the director of this series is how he gives the audience the benefit of the doubt and treats them as intelligent viewers.

"Red, White and Blue" serves as a valuable reminder that police racism isn't just an issue of today - it is an issue of British history.

An emotional exercise in personal conviction, bolstered by Boyega's powerful work.

A tautly-directed drama which left you admiring the fortitude of its central character while shuddering at the obstacles cynically thrown in his path. As Leroy's dad put it, "big change -- that is a slow-turning wheel."

McQueen and Newland's assured script grips from the start and keeps us deeply involved in the characters' fates. Not to be missed.

Steve McQueen masterfully brings to life another monumental moment in Black British History, thanks in part to an affecting and impassioned performance by John Boyega.

In a Hollywood telling, of course Logan would change the world, the score swelling orchestrally. Red, White and Blue is a film of silences - the sound of limbo.

The film makes for a fitting tribute to Logan himself and those like him - people who are brave enough to lead the charge and who get shot down for trying.

John Boyega, known for the most recent Star Wars trilogy, gives a genuinely star-making performance here...

There are many obvious reasons why Red, White and Blue feels timely, but perhaps the greatest one is that it depicts the tricky dynamics Leroy experiences among his superiors.

What Steve McQueen has done here is demonstrate a mastery of the medium, bending it to his will and offering up another savage slice of social commentary without compromising on any level.
November 10, 2020
A challenging film that doesn't offer any solutions or narrative resolution, this is must-see viewing. Boyega shines in a nuanced role, and inhabits a brilliantly realised past that feels not so different from our present
November 7, 2020
A script stripped down to types and situations as timeworn as The Cop Drama itself. But Boyega puts on the sort of acting clinic for McQueen that nothing else he's done allowed him to do.

Red, White and Blue refuses to try and sandpaper the rough edges of these complex issues to make them more stereotypically cinematic, and has John Boyega in a career-best performance.
October 15, 2020
Boyega's stirring performance reaches extremely high levels of drama and indignation, the kind few of his other roles offered.

Boyega is excellent and sheds any Star Wars residual concerns. The three films together celebrate a culture and represent a long heroic struggle-a community coming together to fight systemic racism-a battle that continues to this day.
