Tv Season Info

The dance competition show is divided in two parts: the selection process, where judges pick the final contestants among hundreds of auditioning dancers, and a competition phase, where the finalists directly compete against one another to get the most votes from the audience at home. Season 1, hosted by Lauren Sánchez and with Nigel Lythgoe as main judge, features one-minute auditions and a choreography round in the selections process, which allows the judges to pick fifty dancer to bring forward to Hollywood Week. Only sixteen dancers, eight men and eight women, get to go to the competition phase and, with hard work and a little bit of luck, hope to win the final prize of $100,000.
