What to Know

Critics Consensus

Aided greatly by its solid cast, Social Distance sustains a surprising amount of energy given its subject matter and format - still, it's a little too close to home to fully succeed.

Even when Social Distance focuses on the pandemic - a desperate father (Peter Scanavino) cares for his toddler while his COVID-stricken wife (Ali Ahn) quarantines in a bedroom 10 feet away - there's a humanity to the stories' specificity. Go to Full Review

Though Graham's Social Distance tries to speak to the now by summing up the ordeal of this year, its pathos is buried in mistakes that could've been fixed with time. Go to Full Review
Daniel D'Addario Variety 10/13/2020
This is simultaneously a creative response to the trauma of the past year and not quite transformative enough to possibly be recommended on grounds other than masochistic completism. Go to Full Review

There’s something uniquely interesting about quarantine-produced TV about quarantine, offering us a time capsule of what this moment felt like in the moment we were experiencing it. Go to Full Review

The stories are not very organic and, at times, bland. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

tom m 12/15/2021 This turned out to be interesting and intense. I found it to be more drama than comedy … more like drama with some comic accents thrown in here & there. Each episode was a different story … all taking place in the early days of COVID in the U.S.A. and each treating a different aspect. The dramas were poignant, but not melodramatic. It was extra interesting for me as there were many portrayals of people's interactions with technology that I gather are common now, which I have had no experience. A learning experience for me. See more 10/19/2020 Thought this was a great and fun watch of the 8 short story episodes, all about and filmed in the Covid and racial justice year of 2020. I loved seeing old and new rich and diverse actors such as Danielle, Guillermo, Dylan, Oscar, Niles, Steve and Asante. Good writing and filming, left me wanting more of the series, existing stories or full features. See more 10/18/2020 I can say after watching all 8 episodes , i felt it., Felt almost all of the scenarios gave some comfort to see what is going on played out even in a semi fictional way. See more 10/16/2020 Do you enjoy overrated celebrities grappling with the loss of attention the covid pandemic has inflicted on Hollywood? Then you'll love watching them cry in dramatic fashion as they ride out the end of the world in their mcManshions. See more diego v @filmfan4life 10/15/2020 Very creative take on life during the pandemic. Every episode offers a unique story. See more Read all reviews
