Tv Season Info

Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and Clay (Ron Perlman) vie for leadership of SAMCRO while outside threats to the gang continue to mount in the second series of the hit primetime drama. As the season gets underway, we find the death of Opie Winston's wife yielding unexpected consequences as Vice President Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) vows to take the club in a more legitimate direction, a decision that doesn't sit well with President Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman). Meanwhile, as the racist League of American Nationalists motorcycle club fronted by Ethan Zobelle (Adam Arkin) launches a brutal campaign against a divided SAMCRO, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms enters the picture.

Critic Reviews for Sons of Anarchy Season 2

All Critics (15) | Top Critics (11)

When Sons of Anarchy debuted, I wasn't sure I wanted to see it last. But now that Sutter and company have finished the long and difficult task of fixing what wasn't working, I want to know everything it has to offer.

We're drawn into their lives, and as it starts its second season, "Sons of Anarchy" can't be left out of any conversation about the golden age of cable drama.

Albification is great because while the show is mostly known for its action and motorcycle chases, there's also a strong emotional element to it and this episode provides that for the entire season.

Feb 19, 2019 | Full Review…

That one look he gave while on the phone with Jax is the perfect image to hold on to until the next season: though the Sons may have lost in the season finale, that bond has returned and it won't be long before they're back and stronger than ever.

Feb 19, 2019 | Full Review…

It was a brutal reintroduction to Sons of Anarchy and a reminder that no matter how bad SAMCRO may be, a more evil and disgusting force is out there willing to do anything in order to see them fall.

Sep 27, 2017 | Full Review…

Maybe Sons is the perfect male soap opera. And that ain't so bad.

Sep 3, 2009 | Rating: 8.4/10 | Full Review…

More often than not, the showdowns on Sons of Anarchy amount to a simple shoving match.

Jul 16, 2019 | Full Review…

The season opener, Albification, rests comfortably in my mental top five list of standout TV episodes for 2010.

Feb 19, 2019 | Full Review…

[A] fitting finale both provides an important conclusion to the season (one of the series' best) and leaves sufficient loose ends to begin the next one.

It quickly becomes clear that there are tensions here that everyone is doing their level best to play around.

Audience Reviews for Sons of Anarchy: Season 2

  • Apr 21, 2019
good escalation from season 1 (about 3 viewings)
  • Dec 16, 2018
Easily the best season of the show and ranking as one of the best seasons of tv ever
  • Nov 14, 2018
The show is pretty good overall. Jax wearing "nursing shoes" throughout is a little disconcerting, though I sympathize with the actor having hip replacement surgery (the reason he walks the way he does, swaying back and forth). The storyline of Abel getting kidnapped is a little bit drawn out in Season 3, but otherwise it is a strong show. 84% of all the dialogue from all seasons: Jesus. Jesus! Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ. Sh*t. I get it. Sweetheart. I know baby.

In the second season, you can already feel the connection with all the characters. The way they try to get out of their problems but ending getting in more shit than the one they had, makes you really think the issues of being involved in those type of things. The way that the story continues in this season is great, If the first season was good, they made a really good effort to make this second season better. The good acting of the old and new characters makes you hate some and love others, and also feel that need of punch a few ones in the face. As I said before, Kurt knows how to tell his own story and make you want to see more. I love how he tries to end each episode with a message and a good ol' song in the background. That makes each episode unique.

A great followup season with potential growth and development.
  • Feb 07, 2018
Fueled with even more of the same characteristics that made Season 1 so enjoyable, Season 2 of 'SOA' solidifies fans of the series by not backing down and continuing the craft the stories of it's various characters.

Just as good as the first season!
  • Aug 27, 2015
I didn't find SAMCRO very badass this season; felt like watching a childish adolescent gang thinking they're more badass than they really are. Final episode finally culminates in plenty of blood splatter and what have you, but it too felt unconvincing and amateurish. Too much time on the Jax-Clay feud, and so heavy on the religious motifs for Gemma. I think season three will pick up the excitement more, fingers crossed.

Season 1 is great, Season 2 is even better. The aftermath of Clay's decisions has spark a deadly rivalry between him and Jax. Which makes great TV. Each episode is as entertaining as the last. If you're not hook by the first season, I'll definitely will be by the end of Season 2.

Season 2 really shot off with more characters and an everlasting thrill ride of violence and plot-thickening!
