Sons has hit the ground roaring.

I'm still not a full-blown fan, but there's a definite latent appreciation for what still amounts to The Sopranos on two-wheelers.

The fourth starts out a little slowly, as though it's taking a deep and much-needed breath after the third's wildly operatic conclusion. But the pace quickens soon enough. Anarchists will be hooked.

Again, it's a vast improvement over nearly everything the series had to offer a year ago...But at the same time the new episodes are serving as an antidote to last season's failed experiment, they're also functioning as a defense of it.

he themes aren't all that different than they were back when the series first began. Perspectives have been altered somewhat, but SAMCRO is what it has always been. It's Charming that's changing.

I get that "Sons of Anarchy" is a pulpy mess of a show that somehow, despite itself, managed to have one exceptional season.

Following an uneven third season that took the club out to Ireland, and used the members in a chess game between other players in whom the audience had little invested, [Season 4] essentially hit the reset button.

While Season 3 may have gotten a bit lost in Belfast, with the Season 4 premiere the show got back to basics and returned the focus to the complex and twisty relationships between... (SAMCRO) and the people who love and hate them.

Jan 15, 2019 | Rating: 8.5/10 | Full Review…

Season four of Sons Of Anarchy shows that this masterpiece of a television show can keep going, with interesting and twisted story lines that leave the audience in the dark, right until the last second.

This... is the Sons Of Anarchy we all know and love, and I can't wait to let it dig its hooks into me once again.

Jan 15, 2019 | Full Review…

Season 4 offered Sons of Anarchy its biggest chance to move forward and tell the tale of what happens - rather than merely suggest the possibilities of what may happen.

Jan 15, 2019 | Full Review…

The fourth season of Sons Of Anarchy was fine, occasionally amazing, often absurd, and, in the end, full of unanswered prayers. I'll probably be back next year. But I won't expect much.

    Amazing and badass ;)

it hits the fan. hard (about 3 viewings)

The show is pretty good overall. Jax wearing "nursing shoes" throughout is a little disconcerting, though I sympathize with the actor having hip replacement surgery (the reason he walks the way he does, swaying back and forth). The storyline of Abel getting kidnapped is a little bit drawn out in Season 3, but otherwise it is a strong show. 84% of all the dialogue from all seasons: Jesus. Jesus! Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ. Sh*t. I get it. Sweetheart. I know baby.

'Sons of Anarchy' Season 4 forges ahead with the expected and unexpected, peaking interest of it's loyal fans. SOA continues laying the groundwork and frequently rising the drama in all the right areas.
  • Feb 11, 2018
A little tired and a few tropes, but still a great season.
  • Mar 17, 2017
LOVE Jax and Tara's relationship in the season! but Clay's bad decision making is getting a bit predictable.
  • Nov 09, 2015
Most exciting season yet; better than the Belfast excursion of season 3. The final episode of this season could have been better, but the season as a whole was incredible. Clay was ruthless this season, time for him to go. I loved every moment they gave us this year. You really get so emotionally attached to some characters this go around (mainly Opie and Juice). Every episode keeps the thrills and surprises coming. I'm 100% fully on-board with SOA now.

It just keeps getting darker and darker. Although this season feels like a season too far when you think about how the last season concluded. It still hits all the right notes and brings a even more menacing feel to the whole program due to Clay's and Jax's selfish decision making. I just can't get enough of this TV show. One of the best ever.
  • Apr 16, 2015
Slows down just a smidgen, but still very relevant to the series and a must to see.
  • Dec 02, 2014
You cannot name a better crime drama as far as nuance, character development, grit and engrossing spectacle.
