Tv Season Info

The eighth season of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's animated satire "South Park" continues the show's fearless approach to comedy and social commentary with episodes like "Up the Down Steroid", which features one character using illegal drugs in order to do well at the Special Olympics; "Pre-School", where a bully from the kids' past returns to town; and "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", where the girls in South Park all begin copying Paris Hilton. The program's go-to topics of pop-culture and religion come together in "The Passion of the Jew", where Kyle finds he agrees with Cartman's steady stream of anti-Jewish rhetoric after he sees Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion of the Christ".

Quest for Ratings is a hilarious episode laced with Matt and Trey's healthy disdain for making T.V.

What Culture

I remain a huge South Park fan, even if its politics leave me leery and its celebrity hatred seems excessive.

Despite the frenetic pace of production, Season Eight is a solid one, offering some enjoyable episodes and the occasional bit of sharp-eyed satire.

Audience Reviews for South Park: Season 8

Season 8 had two of my favourite episodes: Pre-School and Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset. But other episodes were not so great.

Not only having a personal favourite episode of mine (The Passion of the Jew), but also some the best satirical elements in the whole show, Season 8 of South Park is among the show's best.
