When Cece Parker Jones, a vivacious 15 year old relocates from a small town in the US to France to study at the Paris Opera Ballet School, she’s on top of the world! But things turn upside down when she discovers a book of family spells in the back room of her Aunt Ginger’s apothecary. While snooping through the book, she unknowingly casts the antidote to a protection spell that has been hiding her identity since she was a little girl. Turns out, she comes from a line of powerful witches called the Wizens! And in doing so, she summons her nemesis, the Mystics, who are after her magic. This spit-fire teen must now juggle the pressures of an elite ballet school, learning new techniques she’s never studied before, keeping up with her intense academics, not to mention her new friendships and maybe a cute boy... or two, as well as her incredible ability to activate magic, while keeping this a secret for only her closest friends.

Spellbound does find its feet and delivers an addicting magical world that tweens and families can enjoy. If you’re a fan of Find Me In Paris or even Dance Academy, this show is for you. Go to Full Review

But this doesn't take away from the dance-themed series, which is filled with lighthearted moments, suspense, and even a bit of romance. Granted, some of the special effects feel a bit outdated, but Spellbound is still easy to get caught up in. Go to Full Review

Led by a delightful young cast, Spellbound brings a dash of flirtation and lots of quirky charm to the potion-making table as it combines the study of ballet with revelations of witchcraft. Go to Full Review

Victoria S @RT78260310 02/15/2025 Lord. This show is awful. The acting is absolutely terrible by most of the cast. The premise of the show sounds great but is poorly executed. I keep asking myself “how did this show get a second season?” I’ve watched way better shows that were axed after the first season. See more Cassie A @RT64669455 10/14/2024 i'm sorry but this show is actually trash. i’m going to finish the first season to give it a proper chance but the season is so long (a great quality for a good show and a terrible quality for a shitty show). acting is terrible in the entire cast but particularly the main character. it’s supposed to be quirky and light hearted, but it feels forced and unnatural. the ballet, hip hop, and all other dancing is just straight up bad. and this is supposed to be a tv show centered around the BEST dancers of their age. it’s completely unrealistic how the instructors still praise cece for not even having basic pointe technique down at the most prestigious ballet school…also cece is supposed to be semi vidtik (tiktok) famous for her edits, but her edits are 2014 middle school on photobooth and imovie level bad. and the live streams always have the same loop of irrelevant comments — can the production department not even be bothered to write 5 seconds worth of comments that are actually interesting or at least different? background soundtrack is also really wacky and sometimes the volume overwhelms the dialogue while other times it’s too quiet (in a dance scene where the music is quiet and their breathing and squeaking shoes are loud??) the plot is underdeveloped. they don’t explain anything and there is barely any driving force for the plot. there’s almost no wizen world building it really feels all contrived. they keep repeating the same five things about the wizen world or cece being the wise one but have done nothing otherwise. the characters’ relationships feel the same way…benoit disliked cece in one episode and in the next was crushing on her. adrian has barely any interactions with cece on screen and no reason to see her as anything but the mission but still develops feelings for her that conveniently creates conflict and nuance to delay the plot. the two best friends, cece and simone, have only called online beforehand but cece immediately confides everything in simone and simone drops everything and risks her own career to help her — on the first day of school. the only redeeming factor for the show is that there’s a lesbian couple. See more Penelope M @RT18849518 10/12/2024 This is my book I published in 2020. “Celeste: Feathers, white roses and sunflowers “ they changed it to a teenager instead of a mom and took out the cat and changed the name to Cece. 🥺 See more Epic N @PokeMadness1996 09/05/2023 As a successor to find me in Paris this is such a great show I am loving it so much so far hope we get more references and connections to the previous show at some point down the line See more Read all reviews
