What to Know

Critics Consensus

The games reach a grim crescendo in this climactic third season, repeating familiar beats but with a ruthlessness that drives creator Hwang Dong-hyuk's themes home.

Its poptastic visuals, perfectly pitched performances and cruel twists are a wild ride worth staying seated for. Go to Full Review

Less an argument against capitalism and more an argument against specific terrible rich people being allowed to put on overly elaborate bumfights. Go to Full Review

Heavy-handed messaging and the laborious nihilism weighs down this final series. Once again, you’re reminded that Squid Game was originally envisaged as a one-off. Go to Full Review

With season 3, Hwang probes his darkest depths yet. Souls are crushed as one despicable scenario after another unfolds, bleaker and meaner than the last, each trampling over the dying embers of morality and decency. Go to Full Review

Kunazzz T @Conz_damonz 1d The scenes were profoundly moving, eliciting tears from me, and I would certainly recommend it! See more Saleem A. @elxstv Feb 23 This season was the best out of all See more Joshua R Feb 19 Squid game season 3 was tragic the ending was advertisment See more Leonardo A @LeoElCineasta Jan 28 Although the producers should have come up with a better ending to convey the message, this season was the most devastating of all. The deaths of 007 and 149 left me in shock and with a lump in my throat. Even so, I feel they should have developed more characters. Everything felt rushed, since they got rid of half the cast in just the second episode. And another thing: player 222 (and the baby) was the worst burden in the entire series. And she didn't even give 333 a chance. Thanks to her, indirectly, 120, 007, 149, 333, and our beloved 456 died. Still, despite the bitter ending, I approve of it. See more Mr. B @Uijgfcc Jan 11 More the second half to season 2 than an actual season 3, I am once again reminded the creator wanted to do season 1 and done and it shows. The decisions made by the production to stretch this paper thin story over 2 seasons and those made by the players are both baffling to say the least. The ending is underwhelming and ridiculous and I'm disappointed this is how serious game ends. See more David D. @FrostyXP Dec 30 Started off strong, but ended poorly. Didn’t enjoy it.
