Apr 24, 2022My favorite Star Trek show. Loved the characters. They were extremely well developed. Sisko was such a different character in comparision to Picard. Strength display more often in a physical and fighting mannor. Often challenged by moral dilemmas created by war and the reality created by the Dominion on the one side and the desire for peace on the side of the Federation. The viewer can witness a clear change in character. From a hesitant Starfleet officer that did not want the positon and could not accept his role as religious figure of the Bajoren people to a spiritual leader of the Bajorns and a leading figure in Starfleets war efforts. I could write about many more aspects of his character as displayed in DS9 but it's best to watch it yourself if you havend done yet. The other main characters, Kira, Worf, O'Brien, Jadzia, Quark, Odo, Bashir and more were well written and played. It was taken enough time for each of them to fully develop a great backstory. The overreaching story of the conflict between the Federation and the Dominion keeps the tension from season 2 onwards. The Dominion acting as a form of anti-Federation where planets and races are forced into rather than peacefully joined. I still watch the series all 2-3 years and as long as I have access to a streaming service that provides access, I will continue to do so.

Mar 22, 2022All 7th seasons of the Berman era Trek series start to wobble a little bit, in my opinion, and this one is no exception - but aside from a few bumps along the way, this season is still spectacular. Wonderful fun episodes like Take Me Out to the Holosuite (the baseball episode) and my personal fave Badda-Bing Badda-Bang balance with incredible hard-hitting episodes like The Siege of AR-558 and It's Only A Paper Moon. Ending with an epic 10 episode story arc and a bittersweet finale, DS9 wraps up the incredible tapestry it has been weaving across all seven seasons.

Feb 15, 2022Maybe the best series of Star Trek ever!

Jan 02, 2022Where the past two seasons were untouchable, the show starts to show some wear on its primary arc, and it becomes easier to get lost in all the twists-and-turns. Despite this, much of the ending and all its bittersweet implications fulfills the central themes of the series, and some fantastic episodes round it out.

Oct 18, 2021Deep Space Nine is a decent show, the first three seasons were a slog to get through, and each season got a little easier. But Sisko never developed as a character, and Avery Brooks is just a poor actor. And don't get me going on the fact that Sisko is essentially the equivalent to Bajor's version of Jesus. While the religious aspect of DS9 was intresting, the entire last season arc was the dumbest I have ever seen and really disrespects the message of Star Trek and the Deep Space Nine. Also they should have killed Dax off entirely.

May 13, 2021Brilliant conclusion for this fantastic show. My favourites for this season is Siege of AR-558, It's Only a Papermoon, Once more unto breach, Strange Bedfellows, The Changing Face of Evil, When it Rains, Tacking into the Wind, Dogs of War and What you Leave Behind.
