It's a great entry to the clone wars franchise but the creators could've done a little bit better

Season one struggles to find its footing at first and establish meaningful connections with its characters. However, specific moments really shine in providing backstory to characters we previously knew nothing about, and establishing strong connections to new characters.

Though the potential of the show is obvious from the start, most of the first season is stuck within safe decisions and poor animation, though the chemistry of the characters is clear from the start.

I gave this a rewatch for my 2023 Star Wars rewatch and I actually like this a lot more then I remember. The animation is a lot better then what I remembered as well. There are plenty of great story arcs that deal with the treatment of clones. Also, many new characters are introduced like Asajj Ventress, Cad Bane, Aurra Sing, and the clones in the 501st. On top of that, they incorporate a lot of the background Jedi in the movies and give them character traits and a fleshed out story. Yes, this season can be pretty childish at points but it also has the magic that makes this entire series so memorable.

It is a good show so far. Although, most of the episodes are not and are mostly filler episodes. Hopefully it gets better in the next couple of seasons. Ashoka is a little annoying but hopefully she gets better as the show goes on.
