STD season 1 is a good show, has okay writing, beautiful visuals, diverse and mostly likeable crew that often have actual likeabl characters. Not much discovery as it's name suggests but it was nice to see a ST show after all the years.

If you've never heard of Star Trek, this would be a great show as it completely ignores all of Star Trek Timeline and History by compressing and mixing up 100 years of events into 9 months creating a show that is completely nonsensical and out of any relation to any of the series presented by any production company ever. Quite a feat. With all this said, once I ignored this, I still found the show enjoyable.

Worst Star Trek series ever! At some point I just became so bored of this series that I started watching Star Trek Enterprise (which I had never watched before). Guess what. I liked that much more!

I watched Discovery to the end of Season 1, hoping for gradual improvement, then I could no longer breathe through the wokeness. The writing was pathetic. I had no desire to return for subsequent seasons.

A very confused re-working of Star Trek.

There is some intention to make this feel like real Star Trek, trying to make it character driven, but sadly, it is far from it, mainly because of failed story ideas and very very poor character and dialogue writing. And it gets only worse from season to season. Same as the JJ movies: This should not ever be considered to be a part of the Star Trek Universe.
