Audience Reviews for Star Trek: Discovery: Season 1

Aug 10, 2022The first season works at least a little bit in itself, but it disregards basically everything else ever called Star Trek.
-
Aug 05, 2022A decent enough season of Star Trek, but nothing special.
-
Jul 25, 2022Too much unpleasant wokeness kills a lot of the enjoyment so only 2 stars. I wish they would stop ruining everything by pushing their propaganda.
-
Jul 11, 2022As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I started and stopped watching Discovery multiple times before deciding to power through and give it a shot. I hate to say it, but it's not good. At all. It's actually really bad. I did force myself to watch the season, but unlike other Star Trek series, this one will not be rewatched.
-
Jul 07, 2022Too consciously self righteous to be entertaining. This series has to tear down or rewrite the history of the original franchise to stand. Even if you look past all of that, one sided and agenda driven characters constantly push you out of the narrative.
-
Jul 07, 2022This season is nice. Cool story. Yes, it might not be "The Star Trek", but i still enjoyed it.
-
Jun 26, 2022An often very dark but brilliant season that kicked off the current Trek renaissance we are in today. As a long-time Trekkie who has seen every show and film before it, I absolutely love Discovery and adored season 1. I have also gotten non-Trekkies into the series.
-
Jun 26, 2022This ain't star trek it's mental and woke no real story just taking a great show and ruining it in every way
-
Jun 23, 2022Absolutely the best Star Trek has to offer! I grew up on Trek, and have watched every series in the franchise. I have zero reservation saying that this series stands head and shoulders above the rest. The nuance, depth of character, accomplished acting, intricate serialized plotlines all work together to create an absolutely engrossing and riveting series. I can not recommend it highly enough.
-
Jun 16, 2022As a standalone action series it might be enjoyable, but it does not have the character and feel of Star Trek at all. Those who watched and enjoyed series like the Next Generation and Deep Space Nine will probably feel that this is not for them.
