While it starts strong, and it's focus on recontextualizing trauma remains earnestly admirable, the season ultimately doesn't have enough story to propel its 10-hour runtime, leading to meandering plots that rely more on nostalgia then storytelling.

Season 2 was not as slow to unfold as the first season, but still not great. Grateful I borrowed the DVD set from my local library.

The first season of Picard is excellent. The Third season is excellent also. The second season is one of the worst things ever made in the franchise. Go Woke, Go Broke. Really it sucks. Save yourself the consternation and skip this horrible season. Unless you enjoy being preached at.

As an original TNG fan, I enjoyed the series. The vibe may be modernized which makes it not totally coherent with the original, but I think it's a good move.

The second season of Star Trek: Picard begins with a promising premiere, but quickly loses its way. What starts as an intriguing sci-fi setup devolves into a season filled with nonsense and "soap opera" melodrama. Ultimately, it lacks the spirit of Star Trek, favoring confusing plot points over the exploration and depth expected from the franchise.
