We had spectacular character moments, so many changing relationships. Really innovative, and sometimes terrifying, plots. I could barely get through most episodes of Season 4. It's just so cringe. Yep, loved the puppet episode, with its puppet inconsistencies on what they could actually do and that it was....SPOILER....just a dream sequence. Pity, with the tribbles, there was no need to. The rest looked like a series with no ideas, in parts written worse than day time TV dramas and when they mocked that, it look less like parody and more like tiredness. What will 'the future bring'...cancellation...and no more Space Babies...all I could hear and see was Dougal from Fr. Ted. The reviewers that struggle with this particular season have never watched the original Star trek. The writers are navigating the story to the original series which had a lot of surreal episodes and they are playing with those concepts with various little nuggets across the season hinting as such. As much as i love Star trek Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space 9, Discovery and list goes on this particular version of Star trek offers something different and a bit of fun that is a homage to the original star trek which is fitting given it is a prequel to that series.
