Practically raised at Seattle's Station 19, Andy Herrera is a confident firefighter who is also the daughter of Pruitt Herrera, the formidable head of the firehouse. Capt. Pruitt was Andy's primary inspiration to become a firefighter and is a mentor to both her and Jack Gibson, the lieutenant at the station. Jack is as fearless as Andy is by-the-books, but when the two are together, sparks fly and opposites attract. The two are joined by Maya Bishop, Dean Miller, Travis Montgomery, Victoria Hughes, and the station's newest addition, rookie Ben Warren. The team also works closely with Seattle PD, often running into Andy's former flame Ryan Tanner.

Joe P @RT74180314 Jun 16 I started watching Station 19 because I enjoy compelling, character-driven drama with a mix of action and emotion, and for a while, that’s exactly what it offered. But somewhere along the line, it stopped being a fire station drama and turned into a soapbox. More and more, the show feels like it’s trying harder to deliver weekly moral lessons than to tell human stories. Each episode now seems to revolve around a different social issue, forcing a political message into the plot with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. What’s frustrating is that I often agree with the underlying views, but I still resent how they’re being shoehorned into the narrative. It’s clumsy, heavy-handed and frankly patronising. I understand that all storytelling carries a perspective, and I don’t expect shows to be politically neutral. But the political backdrop should serve the story, not dominate it. In the best writing, politics is part of the world the characters inhabit, not the main reason the story exists. Unfortunately, Station 19 has lost that balance. The drama often takes a back seat to the message, and instead of being drawn into the characters’ lives, I feel like I’m being talked at. It’s a real shame, because the cast is strong and the original premise had so much promise. Until the writers shift the focus back to telling good stories, I’ll be watching something else. See more 04/20/2022 This is an amazing show. It speaks about real world problems. The cast is amazing. My favorite character is Maya Bishop. I look up to her a lot. She's so strong and beautiful. Overall 10/10 would recommend and watch again. See more 12/12/2021 It was an amazing season, great character development for some of them. See more 06/15/2021 This show has lost it's way, the writers are using this show to express thier opinions. Fictional Tv should be an escape not a tool to express political opinions. See more 04/25/2021 Used to enjoy this show, however this season has ruined it for me. It has become so out of touch with reality and more about pushing the political agenda in today's age. I'll stick with shows that are positive and uplifting and avoid ones like this. See more 04/23/2021 Terrible season. Unscheduled all my recordings. False narrative. We see enough of this stuff on our day-to-day news channels we don't need to see it on our favorite TV shows. Y'all should have just kept it the way it was going. I guarantee lots of viewers will cancel the recordings as well See more Read all reviews
