Above all, there is [Pierce] Brosnan. You feel his pain as Bag of Bones hits you over the head.

We've all enjoyed hearing corny ghost stories at night, but our enjoyment depends on the teller's commitment and artfulness. Bag of Bones needs more of both.

It is hollow and - boo! - not scary.

The cast is limited by a script that often calls for caricatures.

Sure, there are some fun moments. Sure Brosnan looks mah-velous. He always does. But a little less plodding plot and a lot more action, please.

Bag of Bones looks and sounds great and is definitely one of his stronger King mini-series adaptations to date.

The adaptation, as far more macabre than the book, left me far more unsettled.

Brosnan is often good but he is overshadowed by an increasingly ridiculous story.

The adaptation of King's novel is too long by one night, plodding to a resolution that most viewers will have figured out by the time it drags them there.

Audience Reviews for Stephen King's Bag of Bones: Season 1

If you think the movie was bad, then you better not watch the adaptation. It stars Brosnan as a writer who deals with grief of losing his wife, but he is also plagued by a supernatural force. It was bad but it followed the book. There were a few gore if those were any redeeming factors at all.
