A few episodes aren't the best, and they got tired in the last few series, but all episodes have some good jokes. Highly recommended. Honestly, the past six months have been the darkest I can remember. Proper down in the dumps, couldn't find a spark of joy anywhere. Depression's a beast, ken? Just a heavy blanket over everything. I hadn't laughed, not a real, proper laugh, in months. Just going through the motions, day in, day out. Then, by pure chance, I stumbled across Still Game on Netflix. I can't even remember what made me click on it, probably just scrolling through, numb as usual. And then…something happened. Slowly at first, a little chuckle, then a snort, and before I knew it, I was howling. Proper, tears-streaming-down-my-face, clutching-my-sides laughing. I haven't done that in years. It was like a dam broke, all that pent-up sadness just washed away by waves of laughter. Still Game, man, it's a wee gem. It's like someone reached into my chest and squeezed my heart, but in a good way, a way that made it remember how to feel. I don't know what magic they've bottled, but it's potent stuff. The writing, the acting, the whole shebang – it's just brilliant. Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, they're geniuses. The whole team behind it should be dead chuffed, absolutely bursting with pride. They've given me back something I thought I'd lost, the ability to laugh, to connect, to feel alive again. Honestly, I can't thank them enough. It's pure dead brilliant, so it is! Very funny for all, but especially for anyone who has grown up in or around Scotland, or any other part of the United Kingdom. Scotland's answer to The Golden Girls.
