This second season of Tales From '85 serves more of the same beautiful animation, though enthusiasm quickly fizzles out for a flimsy plot that's stretched even thinner than in season 1. Go to Full Review

Maybe Stranger Things fever has dwindled since April’s debut, making Tales From ‘85’s shortcomings harder to ignore, or maybe the series has settled into its didactic intent. Go to Full Review

Johann D. M @Johann33 20 hrs ago ENTERTAINING WITH GREAT ANIMATION!! Yet another spooky adventure with incredible, colorful animation that takes a noticeable leap in quality this season. The new characters continue to develop and become increasingly cherished by the Party, which makes it all the more awkward to consider what happened to them and why they are never mentioned or relevant again in Season 3 of the main series and beyond. Their growing importance makes these continuity issues even harder to ignore. Meanwhile, Dustin continues to be an exaggerated version of himself, quickly becoming repetitive, predictable, and even annoying. The story itself is compelling enough to leave a lasting impression, which only makes you question why its events seemingly have so little impact on the main series. It still feels like a cash grab, and with each new season, the feeling that this spin-off shouldn't go on forever grows stronger. There is only so much you can stretch a year in Hawkins before the cracks start to show! See more Samuel A @sam000._ 4 days ago s2 of tales from ’85 is genuinely so good. i liked s1 a lot, but this season made me way more invested in the characters and their relationships. everything feels natural, and what they go through actually affects the way they act and interact. i especially loved how much room the season gives its characters. friendships, conflicts, humour and emotional moments are allowed to breathe instead of being rushed to the next plot point. even the smaller moments feel meaningful, and you can actually see the characters changing because of their experiences. the story also feels really consistent, and i never felt like something happened just because the plot needed it to. there are still mysteries and bigger moments, but the characters never feel secondary to them. honestly, this is much closer to what i wanted from stranger things, 10/10. See more Luna hellena T @RT67235129 5 days ago s2 of tales from ’85 is SO good. i already loved s1, but this season made me care about the characters sm more. their development feels natural, and you can see how everything that happens affects their relationships. this is way closer to what i wanted from stranger things. imo it’s better than s3, s4 and s5 of the live-action. my biggest issue was that a lot of the characters barely got enough development, and some of the development they DID get didn’t make much sense. there were also plot holes and things that happened just because the story needed them to happen, and it took me out of it. tales from ’85 feels way more character-focused. the friendships, conflicts, humour and emotional moments have time to breathe, and the characters feel like they’re growing because of what they experience, not just because the plot needs them to. idk, i had way more fun watching this. i didn’t want s2 to end. could’ve watched 10 more eps tbh. 10/10, no notes. and i loved every second of this!! See more blaze S @GodzillablazeMrknoxville Oct 16, 2026 This season was alright it wasn’t as good as for season 1 my favorite episode from this season is episode 1 and the finale episode 8 the plot was good there was some family reunion on one character the story fell off a bit by episode 4 and 5 overall it was a decent season but sadly wasn’t as good 6/10 See more Pedro A @PedroAlao Oct 12, 2026 A solid continuation to the first season. The animation is still extraordinary and perfectly complements the Hawkins' atmosphere. The main group of characters continue to have good chemistry and interesting adventures, yet the plot felt thin and lacked innovative ideas. See more Matthew P @Filmcritic123 Oct 11, 2026 Garbage cash grab that just keeps going. Can’t believe they made this many episodes of garbage. Would of better without the weird animation See more Read all reviews
