Tv Season Info

The sitcom's third and final series finds George (Jeremy Sisto) and his daughter, Tessa (Jane Levy), considering leaving Chatswin behind and moving back to the city, but eventually deciding what they really need is a fresh start, though only after making a pact not to get sucked back into the soulless suburban culture—good luck with that! This means George will have to get over his breakup with Dallas (Cheryl Hines), and Tessa is forced to confront her feelings about Ryan (Parker Young), who comes home from college with a new girlfriend (Lindsey Shaw). Meanwhile, Lisa (Allie Grant) sets her sights on getting married to Malik (Maestro Harrell); Fred (Chris Parnell) and Sheila (Ana Gasteyer) adopt a little boy when they miss having a son around; Dalia (Carly Chaikin) blames her mother for calling it quits with George; and Dallas returns to her Southern roots for her mother's funeral—and takes Tessa along for the ride. Guest stars include Alan Tudyk, Natasha Leggero and Amanda Schull.

Critic Reviews for Suburgatory Season 3

All Critics (8) | Top Critics (2)

With an abundance of family-based jokes and a seemingly never-ending supply of quips, goofy asides and ridiculous mentions of pop culture, I can promise I will continue to watch.

Feb 6, 2019 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

Kudos to the show's brain trust for going the extra mile, though, and giving some real depth to the characters, reflecting the changing face of the American family without sacrificing positive messages.

Feb 6, 2019 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

One of the many reasons Suburgatory was a notch above other sitcoms is creator Emily Kapnek's ability to create fully-formed adult characters who don't just exist to serve Tessa and company.

Feb 6, 2019 | Full Review…

Clever and warm in some areas, overly broad and stupid in others, on occasion capable of balancing everything just right for a strong episode, but consistently inconsistent as a whole.

Jan 16, 2014 | Full Review…

Considering how the series began...there are worse ways to leave Suburgatory than with the exhilarating sight of Tessa doing something about being "Stiiiiiiill Horny."

They needed this transition episode to get them back to normal, their normal, and allow the other characters to reestablish their individual weirdness.

Jan 16, 2014 | Full Review…

Full of charm and wit, Suburgatory is still one of ABC's best kept secrets.

Jan 15, 2014 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

The show may have been simplified due to budgetary concerns, but that makes its core themes shine all the brighter.
