Suits: Season 1 Reviews

February 15, 2019
Yes, Suits is a soap opera with hot actors and a decent locations budget. That's why it works.

Inessential stuff, of course, but entertaining. Watching it, I could feel myself becoming a little bit of a Suits nerd. Just a very little bit...

Suits fits USA like a glove.

Suits needed just 90 minutes to become one of this reviewer's summer favorites.

What I liked about this show, despite the already amazing chemistry between the two leads, was the fact that neither of them were set up as infallible.

The fun comes in watching the uncynical Adams learn to undercut everyone else's cunning.

Impressive out of the gate.

These stylish suits aren't empty, by any means.

Once again, it looks as though we have a winner on a network that knows what it's all about.

Even if Suits never strips off all of its comedic clothes, the glimpses of bare souls here are tantalizing.

The pair's snappy banter is part of the appeal of Suits, which also features Gina Torres as Harvey's boss.

There's no shortage of character fodder here, and the dialogue is snappy with a pop-culture flavor.

It's better than Franklin & Bash, and may yet prove that it can fit comfortably within the USA wheelhouse of "light but not too light" dramas.
June 14, 2012
It's all nonsensical, of course, but the show's appeal has nothing to do with credibility and everything to do with the buddy-buddy/big bro-little bro relationship between Mike and his new boss, Harvey Specter.

June 14, 2012
Though the series begins amusingly enough, it quickly descends into cloying buddy escapade.
June 14, 2012
It's too bland to elicit very strong feelings either for or against.
June 14, 2012
Rarely have I had as hard a time getting through an inflated USA pilot than I did through all 73 minutes of Suits.
June 14, 2012
Slightly darker than most USA fare, Suits follows the channel's pattern well enough, but breaks down when it comes to fulfilling the whole "Characters welcome" slogan.
June 14, 2012
Unfortunately, it counts as ludicrous, ill-cast and ill-conceived, with a premise that's idiotic even in a medium used to skimming past idiotic premises.
