This stodgy six-part mystery-thriller demands far more patience than it can reward. Go to Full Review

Daniel Rigby stands out in the ensemble cast as Justine’s blokeish husband, Steve, because he acts like a real person rather than a character in a Channel 4 drama. Go to Full Review

What we end up with is a puzzle box of a show that feels intricately layered, but ultimately very messy. What is the plot? Sometimes, it’s hard to be sure. Go to Full Review

Summerwater is several things at once. It’s a great whodunit. It’s a sobering portrait of division in modern-day Britain, but also the dark side of human nature. Go to Full Review

Summerwater is well made, but you can tell that it is adapted from a novel, and that the story was perhaps best left on the page. The adaptation is ephemeral, a bit confusing, and occasionally defies logic. Go to Full Review

Brynley M @RT40673201 Nov 29 Channel 4 advertised it as a thrilling new series. Six really slow episodes with a weak script and unbelievable characters. I kept thinking it would get better and reach a "thrilling " climaxe. Unfortunately, it was simply a load of rubbish. 6 hours of my life I'm never getting back 😪 See more Edward L @Glyndower Nov 22 Unwatchable due to the presence of Shirley Henderson, the worst actor in Britain.
