Supergirl: Season 3 (2017 - 2018)

Season 3

Critics Consensus

Heavier themes lead to higher stakes, but Supergirl gives its eponymous heroine and her fellow supers plenty of room for growth, creating a well-balanced, engaging third season.

It is a master class on how to keep your feet on Earth and launch clear, honest, intelligent and fun superhero adventures every week. [Full Review in Spanish]

It was just full of depressed heroes, drama and angst, and had so little actual superheroics and fun...

[Supergirl] uses the laziest possible storytelling tactic, and [it] annoys the hell out of me.

There was a lot to process, in what felt like a chaotic end-cap to a very uneven season.

Superb writing.

Supergirl is a show that's smarter than it's sometimes given credit for.

Apr 18, 2018 | Full Review…

If Supergirl spends its [third] season letting Kara Danvers rediscover herself, one moment of solace at a time, it'll be a season well-spent. If not... well, it'll probably be pretty good, no matter what it does.

Dec 12, 2017 | Full Review…

Supergirl continues to make the case it's a much improved show with Mon-El up, up and far away.

After an entire summer away from these characters, it's tough to come back and see our heroine so far removed from everyone else.

Enjoyed this season, great stories, easy to watch. Just put your brain on a neutral and enjoy it!
  • Aug 09, 2020
This was awesome but it wasn't the best
  • Aug 03, 2020
More political and just as much fun, Supergirl is a great show not afraid to tackle big issues.
  • Apr 07, 2020
not that bad, even in spite of the fact I hated her defeating super man it was entertaining time
  • Mar 03, 2020
Boring and uninspired. Oh and awful special effects.
  • Jan 14, 2020
With even better character development, great action scenes, good visual effects, a excellent script, creative direction and exceptional performances by Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Katie McGrath, Odette Annable, Chris Wood and David Harewood, Supergirl's third season achieves the hard feat of beating its predecessors
  • Dec 04, 2019
Not as good as Seasons 1 & 2, but Supergirl Season 3 still has a lot of gems on her sleeves and cape. I still have no idea what's not to love about this show so far. The pacing has gotten better, the characters are great, and the acting still holds up for being a cheesy CW show. But then again, I haven't seen Seasons 4 and 5 yet.
  • Nov 27, 2019
It was.... ok.... this marks the start of its failing.
  • Nov 08, 2019
Not as strong as the first 2 series but enjoyable
  • Nov 03, 2019
This Season of Supergirl has it's ups and downs but through and through it's a good season.
