Washed-up former stuntman Ingmar is stuck in the past. Overly optimistic DJ Axel is stuck in the digital world. Ingmar is trying to reinvent himself and get by as a private investigator. When a case leads Ingmar to the annoying DJ, they team up to form a private detective firm, Swedish Dicks, that causes them to investigate some of the strangest cases Los Angeles has ever seen that may seem ordinary at first. Among those are the theft of secret data from an ad agency and an adult-film star who wants the PIs to find her stalker.

The series has a quirky European comic sensibility that can bring a sudden belly laugh when you least expect it. Well worth a look. Go to Full Review

Swedish Dicks has some things working in its favor, but if it continues to pile on the parts that feel less natural, there'll be fewer reasons for viewers to take on any new cases. Go to Full Review

Like many entertainments from other lands, it seems to belong to a different time as well, a time when things that are meant to be funny here may have been funnier. Go to Full Review

05/26/2021 The pro-chat about this show does not do it justice, they seem to have just dipped into tiny bits of the show and missed out on a slow burning little gem. So here's a shocker- Keanu Reeves is NOT the best thing about this show! (No offence to him, his appearances are always tongue in cheek fun). Plus they don't 'just recycle typical detective show stereotypes'. Nope, it starts out looking conventional, but it builds from that into something more like Twin Peaks meets Lillihammer (another slow burner that is totally worth it and then some). The two lead characters gradually reveal the nuances of their personalities as they try to struggle against their inner disaster-magnets, and often just about manage to pull through thanks to the fantastically tyrannical / possibly sociopathic Sun. Sun initially appears as a cleaner but by sheer force of personality, and unshakeable confidence in her ruthlessness and deviousness, seems to become the driving force behind the business. Ingmar's lawyer daughter Sarah starts off being driven crazy with worry about her Dad putting himself in danger, but she is increasingly drawn in to helping the business, partly by the mesmeric Sun, and not at all (ahem!) due to the attraction she is repressing for the dorky yet somehow still kind of cool (sometimes) Axel. That's the tip of the iceberg, give it a go, and give it a chance to build. Fingers X'd for Season 3!!! See more 01/22/2021 What I thought was a mediocre mess at the end of S01E01, grew into a charmng, disarming, goofball bingefest. Great buddy chemistry between Stormare and Glans, buttressed by the small but strong supporting cast of Bang, Cooper, Lord, and Reaves (wacky & wonderful & FUNKY Keanu!).
