Critic Reviews for Sweetbitter Season 2

All Critics (6) | Top Critics (2)

Sweetbitter's dizzying range of directors and writers perhaps explains the unevenness of the episodes. Though each one is coated in an appetising glaze, the ingredients beneath can vary in quality.

She's still got a lot to learn about... pretty much everything else, as the double-episode Season 2 premiere shows us.

The reemergence of Amy Gibbons is Sweetbitter's most emotional look into Tess' past...

Where the show does a much better job is in its portrayal of the connections within the microcosm of the restaurant, one that completely runs the lives of those who are a part of it. It's all funny, emotional, warm and quickly forgotten in turn.

Everyone still has loads of time to play out their own petty dramas right in the middle of service. Sandra Bernhard wastes her own time appearing [this season].

Powered, like its first [season], with unfailing wit, superbly conceived characters, and confidence in its own strength.

Such an amazing and put together show with interesting subplots and well developed characters.

Totally unnecessary pig-killing-scene. Writers, you don't have to be so cruel to get more attention. Truly disgusting. Shame on you.

Fantastic, a further improvement on Season 1.

I stumbled on this show one night on STARZ and I am hooked. Season 2 has been great so far. This is my favorite show and the only reason I keep STARZ

Great writers, good cast, especially Tom Sturridge. Love this series What I am about to tell you is not meant to be a substitute for counseling or medication. It is meant to assist and improve your quality of life and fulfill your destiny. Both the manic and the depress states show up in the voice even before the symptoms are apparent. Bipolar brains become severely disconnected. I listen for the sounds you are not able to make; your voice tells me where the blockages are both in the brain and in the body. My work is not a cure but it will help train your nervous system and energy flow to manage episodes. Message me when you are ready.
