A close-knit community in a small Welsh town is hopeful of a better and more prosperous future when a large construction project is planned in the area. But when a terrible explosion rips through the site, killing many -- including children -- the accident devastates the community. The immediate loss of loved ones is heartbreaking, but the community also feels its sense of hope vanish in the aftermath. The daughter of the local politician who pushed for the construction work is left with a permanent disability, a visible sign of the grief and rage that threatens to tear the town apart.

Certainly provocative, and exposure is at its core. Go to Full Review

In the end, it's the women who are the centre of this tragedy, fighting for justice and for the right to not be forgotten. And that's what is the heart of The Accident, it doesn't want you to forget the dead. Go to Full Review
John Doyle Globe and Mail 01/16/2020
Its energy comes from the confrontational anger of the characters and the writer's anger at injustice. Go to Full Review

The tension is tight, the story crisp and fast-moving and offers a stinging rebuke of the power elite. Go to Full Review

The Accident starts off so strong and nosedives into mediocrity so quickly and completely that I initially assumed it must have been based on a true story, because otherwise why write a show so free of drama? Go to Full Review

Fahad T @FahadShahid Dec 18 Such a stupid show, framing the poor guy and the rich guy literally lighting the house on fire and police doing nothing... Didn't even finish the first episode. See more Michelle C @Michelle234 Dec 17 Terrible acting for starters. All characters had no talent. And the translation was a joke! Worst crap I've seen in a while See more Tina R @RT00223317 Sep 30 I didn’t even make it thru the first episode. What did I just watch???? See more Ed B @RT18758010 Aug 23 The only thing good in this series is Genveive Barr who is a good actres. Most of the actors act like amateurs. Boring and bad written series that happens in Wales. Most of the cast is composed by Welsh actors. I give two stars because of Geneive Barr performace. The series is in reality very bad written with terrible actors. The actress plays the daughter is a terrible actress. See more Paul D @LVHothead May 26 Sarah Lancashire, Adrian Scarborough and Joanna Scanlan were great. It was a moving story well-told. See more Joseph S @RT08490687 09/22/2024 Wow, actually hurtful to watch this show, just absurd and unrealistic to a whole new level... For real. See more Read all reviews
