A lot of “The Anarchists” is plain sad; some of it hits hard. But a lot of it wanders and reiterates and generally feels like a first-draft warmup for a fictionalized two-hour version... Go to Full Review

[A] messily made but often fascinating documentary series... Go to Full Review

Untangling and organizing these narratives requires a certain amount of discipline... But Schramke's ability to wrangle all of these narratives into a coherent form proves to be sporadic and limited at best. Go to Full Review

The Anarchists suffers and drudges its way through a story that fares better as a news story than a six-part docuseries. Go to Full Review

That's what we're looking forward to seeing on The Anarchists. Not so much comeuppance, but just a view from folks like Berwick or the Freemans that there is no ideal society, as much as they tried to engineer one through Anarchapalooza. Go to Full Review

Nicholas G 12/03/2024 This documentary should be renamed “right wing libertarians” because these are not anarchists. It’s frustrating that this term has been co-opted and that HBO would rubber stamp this erroneous title. Do yourself a favor and don’t expect any intellectual enlightenment or deep philosophical discourse in this documentary. See more claire f 09/05/2022 Fascinating. We humans will fall for anything. See more Jerad W @JeraBear 07/24/2022 I have an honest question: I spent the better portion of my afternoon typing out an honest review of this Show (The 'Anarchists').........and you guys at RT have still not posted it: WHY are you only posting certain peoples reviews & not others? Is this Selective Review Posting -or- just simple Censorship? Do we need to do a Youtube Video / Exposé on this ongoing issue? (This is the 5th or 6th time this has happened in the past few months) See more 07/20/2022 An attempt to pass off far-Right conspiracy theorists, cryptocurrency business owners, and Libertarians as 'anarchists' in a country known for autonomous anti-capitalist movements - succeeds only in generating crypto-cringe. The director is also a right-wing hipster close to the movement. Glad he got to cash in on someone getting murdered, sure Murray would be proud. See more 07/18/2022 This is not Anarchism in any way whatsoever. This is just American liberatarianism co-opting the name anarchism. The documentary should have been titled "The Libertarians". See more 07/18/2022 I was immediately disappointed and turned off by the language used around the children and the immature actions of the adults. As I see it, if you think burning books is the way to go, do so using a calm voice while describing the reasons why you consider this book necessary to be burned. Draw attention to your intellect rather than your childishness and people may begin to think...hey, maybe he has something there. Riot, gang, lynching mentality is rarely remembered in a meaningful way. See more Read all reviews
