The whole thing is so outrageously assured – clever but unshowy dialogue, confident visual language. And that’s before you even get to the stonking performances from its leads... Go to Full Review

My struggle with this was that it felt very, very, very familiar to me. Go to Full Review

The twists can be pulpy and a little melodramatic, but you’ll never tire of watching Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys face off against each other. Go to Full Review

The Beast in Me feels like something Alfred Hitchcock may do if he were alive today. Everything from the camera work and episodic direction to the set design and musical score works together harmoniously. Go to Full Review

At once a meditation on grief, a crime drama and a character study of two very distinct and full-rounded personalities, this hooks you early and might just be one of Netflix’s most binge-worthy offerings in years. Go to Full Review

Chris C @ChrisCordovita Jul 18 Matthew Rhys delivers a spectacular performance. His Emmy nomination comes as no surprise, in fact, it's fully deserved. The emotional range he brings to his character is unforgettable and truly iconic. The backstory provides everything a miniseries needs, although it occasionally stumbles with unnecessary scenes or side plots that don't add much to the main narrative. Even so, it accomplishes what it sets out to do. It's a good serie. If it wins any award, it will be because of Matthew Rhys. See more Dom R @timujin356 Jul 16 The Beast in Me started out as a strong series with an intelligent premise and a compelling antagonist. Unfortunately, the ending falls into a familiar formula where an apparent mastermind is defeated through a far-fetched sequence of events simply because the story insists the heroes have to win. In reality, sometimes the villain wins, and this finale felt more like plot convenience than a believable conclusion. Another distraction was the lead character’s constant quivering chin during every emotional scene, which became increasingly irritating as the series went on. I’d only recommend it if you don’t mind stories where, regardless of how brilliant or unstoppable the villain seems, the good guys are destined to prevail in the end. See more Dan W @RT53126298 Jul 11 This limited series is riveting and very suspenseful. It deserves the 9 Emmy nominations that it just received. Claire Danes and Mathey Rhys are both superb. Brilliant acting from both of them. See more Cyrus S. @dogwild Jun 30 Excellent writing, acting and production. Chef’s kiss. See more james T @James8mm Jun 26 Good flick. Danes, Rhys , are excellent, as is the entire cast. The tension , suspense you can feel mostly by Danes, Rhys projecting raw emotion right up until the end. You'll be left wondering, yeah is the beast in me? Maybe in some more than others. 'Hey Neighbor'. See more Madam D @Madam1948 Apr 12 3.25 stars Excellent acting by Danes & Rhys. The plot was pretty convoluted and it is just too long. See more Read all reviews
