The Big Conn bites off plenty, and occasionally more than it should chew, distending its scope to the point that it loses sight of Conn, whose over-the-top brazenness is the most interesting aspect of this saga. Go to Full Review

Hernandez and Lazarte recount the entire tale with considerably more zeal and alacrity than what the government displayed toward a rather obvious picking of its pocket. Go to Full Review

Tony Z @RT20046144 11/10/2023 What a story! True crime is always stranger than fictional crime. Incisive use was made of Conn's own handwritten memoir, which gained credibility by excusing or denying almost nothing Conn did. What was especially wrenching here was how hard it was to get past bribery and old boy connections and get perps behind bars, and the vicious tactic of denying all of the Conn disability claims at once, leaving hundreds of desperately needy people in deep trouble. The lawyers who volunteered their time at the prompting of local attorney Ned Pillerdorf to expedite the re-processing of claims is a story in itself. I'd give it more than 3.5 but for an amount of slack time. Three episodes would have done it. See more Gareth v @geewah 06/23/2023 While this docu-series is a tad bloated, it is a well made and fascinating character study of a larger than life character who's actions left a community scarred to this day. See more kevin c @RT51789651 07/18/2022 A gripping account with unexpected twists. Multiple heroes (the journalist, whistleblowers) and villains (the perp himself, judges, government employees). Funny in parts, deeply sad in others. Above all, this is a story that needed to be told, and it's told here with skill and verve. See more 05/06/2022 This an excellent documentary. Binge watched the entire thing. See more Read all reviews
