This is engrossing, tightly rendered storytelling that takes us into the darkness and challenge the investigators face to make sense of chaos. Go to Full Review

If The Bombing of Pan Am 103 struggles to find the specific humanity of its generic characters, the impulse behind creating them in the first place -- to commemorate those departed, and those who cared about them -- cannot help but feel touchingly humane. Go to Full Review

While affecting, this sombre series lacks drama or tension. It has little to offer beyond recognition of pain and tragedy. Perhaps that’s enough. Go to Full Review

A tremendously affecting and somber reminder of the cooperation and resilience required in times of tragedy, as well as the strength and perseverance required in our darkest moments. Go to Full Review

This series not only focuses on the tragedy and its aftermath, but also sensitively portrays the victims and investigators involved. Go to Full Review

The show is perhaps a touch too reverential in its approach that it fails to unearth a stronger response to the whole event. In the final two episodes, as the search for those responsible gets heated, the miniseries increases the urgency and emotion. Go to Full Review

Michael B @KVD1969 2 days ago The Bombing of Pan Am 103 is a six-part British factual television drama created by Jonathan Lee that dramatizes the aftermath of the 1988 Lockerbie air disaster. Starring Connor Swindells, Patrick J. Adams, and Merritt Wever, the series details the largest murder investigation in Scottish history. Over its six episodes, the show follows the cross-border collaboration and diplomatic friction between Scottish police detectives and the FBI as they work to identify the terrorists. Beyond the criminal inquiry, the narrative focuses heavily on the human toll, depicting the grief and resilience of local Lockerbie residents alongside victim advocacy groups. Co-produced by the BBC and Netflix, the series spans the decade-long pursuit of justice, culminating in the historic trial at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands. Although the final third loses momentum—becoming somewhat sluggish to the point where I lost interest during the home stretch—the overall result remains very positive and memorable. See more jessica S @RT48262953 Aug 23, 2026 I gave it 4 stars bc 5 wld mean it’s a perfect series that’s almost impossible- to me. It’s definitely worth watching but it’s not perfect. I will admit I did enjoy every epi of the series & Im glad I watched it! I highly recommend it to anyone that likes drama’s- regardless if they are based on actual events or not. Typically, when a series has that many epi’s & is based on actual events the series focus’s too much on the “drama” surrounding the event. This series did an excellent job of balancing all aspects of a traumatic event such as this i.e. the emotional trauma & the investigation. However, my main complaint is that the acting often seemed unnatural/forced. See more Phillip J @RT65187272 Aug 18, 2026 Clearly a lot of money was spent on The Bombing of Pan Am 103, which makes the number of unconvincing American accents all the more baffling. Several British actors playing Americans… including Eddie Marsan, Andromeda Godfrey and Joe Layton — deliver accents that, to my ear, are extremely distracting. Even Parker Sawyers, who is actually American-born, gives a performance here that I found oddly unnatural in its delivery. I lost count of the number of times an American character’s accent pulled me straight out of the drama. With a production this ambitious, and with so much care obviously lavished on the period detail and recreation of events, how did something as fundamental as dialect work get through? It’s especially noticeable when these performances are alongside actors with natural North American accents. A compelling and important story, undermined far too often by accents that made me conscious I was watching actors perform. See more william B @RT56254223 Aug 16, 2026 The bombing of Pan Am flight 103 goes under the microscope. And wow do we learn the dynamic's of investigating a jet plane crash. From the community of Lockerbie Scottish hometown folk to experts within the CIA and FBI's crime lab. Where the local gentry to scientists within the UK / USA and Scotland Yard all play important roles bringing the bombers to justice. Worth watching every single minute of it. ENJOY !
