May 27, 2023Only seen 2 episodes but won't be going back for the third.

May 26, 2023The Clearing is by no means an undemanding watch, but based on these first three compelling episodes alone, it is well worth the effort.
-
May 26, 2023Multi-layered and mature writing with multiple timelines playing out as the secrets and deeds of the past impacts the characters' future and present selves. Building slowly to deliver its thrills in the best way. Fantastic performances from an incredible cast. Can't wait to see where this one leads!

May 24, 2023I've followed this issue fairly closely - having watched the initial 60 Minutes interviews/investigations from the 80s, to personally knowing the specific location(s) involved, with friends and family having property in the neighborhood of the 'house/compound', even having walked past the property. The imagery is great and the portrayal of the characters is very good, but it's let down by a sloppy screenplay and 'creative license' which, whilst can be brilliantly interwoven into a fact-dominated series (such as in the extraordinary 'Chernobyl' and 'Dopesick' as just two examples), here it is misused and results in a disjointed 'slow-burn'. I barely got through to Ep2 - Ep3....well maybe? But I know the real story anyway!

May 24, 2023This spoon-feeding and "not giving all the info" is getting old. Immediately after watching the 1st episode, I realized I'll wait for the finale, check that out, and only if it's not disappointing, which I think non of us expect it to be, I'll watch on 1.5 speed the rest of the episodes. What I am confused about is - why make this 'dullness' mistake over and over.
