Competition provides narrative; TV needs narrative. And it is engaging enough, if you ignore the rampant banalities in the color commentary. Go to Full Review

But despite the fact that these folks are playing for cash and sponsorship, the overall series does a great job of highlighting why rock climbers are passionate about the sport, and the sense of personal satisfaction it brings them that no money can buy. Go to Full Review

Lauren W 09/18/2024 As a climber I really enjoyed the show. Both the contestants and the climbs featured were awesome. I got a little irritated by Sharma's commentary on Deco in the show. I felt like they were trying to create drama, but it seemed super out of place. Climbers are a pretty collaborative group and that is the beauty of the show. If there is another season, I would love to see some less burly climbs. Also, speed climbing should not be an elimination climb. Overall, it's a beautifully shot show and I really appreciated that the contestants supported each other. See more Brandon M 06/26/2023 Where as many reality competition shows focus on drama and gimmicks to spark intrigue, this no-frills show stands out for showcasing wholesome comradery within the climbing community and the passions individual use to face their own inner obstacles. A feel good competition show with beautiful scenery and down to earth individuals. See more Paul B 02/28/2023 How does a show come off as super cool and entirely superficial at the same time? Dunno, but the hippy-dippy, zen bullshit coupled with over-the-top contestant support for one another kind of negated the entire competition. Where's the fire? ... "I really want to win blah blah, but it's ok if I don't." This show watched like an extended participation trophy ceremony to the point where I didn't care at all. Love that Sharma was always introduced as "living legend", no ego there at all, when he didn't act like a total dick to Decco. Great advertisement for the sport and beautiful locations, but there's plenty of room for improvement. See more A K 01/28/2023 They somehow found this little niche between dramatic and light-hearted, seasoned with just the right amount of dirtbag. See more Lee C 01/21/2023 To quote Elvis, "a little less conversation, a little more action, please." There's some good climbing and beautiful scenery, but the show spends far too much time on the reality TV side of things, i.e., people talking about themselves and their climbing rather than climbing. I would prefer to watch videos of better climbers on YouTube. See more Nikolay V 01/13/2023 Cheesy at times (but less so compared to similar shows). Sharma is fantastic as a living legend should be, climbing crags are picked perfectly, nice mix of competitors with similar overall proficiency (upper intermediate amateur) . Varying levels of technique, strength, height or mental stiffness among the participants makes the outcome less predictable and brings back the usual conversation topics at every climbing gym around the world (e g "is it a tall person beta?").
