Scandal, betrayal, feuds and romance are plentiful in this Amazon-original drama from creator Oliver Goldstick. Set in Paris, France, after World War II, the series follows two brothers who are in charge of an illustrious fashion house. As attempts are made to emerge from the dark days of the Nazi occupation, the brothers' rivalry and dark, twisted secrets threaten to undermine their rising success. Right after surviving one war, another battle looms that pits proteges against mentors and family against family.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Collection's impeccable visual style masks a muddled drama whose attempts at fashion-driven intrigue all too often stumble.

The Collection, set amid the resurgent fashion industry of postwar Paris, will become a guilty pleasure for many once it starts rolling down the runway, zipping, tugging and pulling itself together. Go to Full Review

The show is overcrowded with mysteries, mysteries that may be intentionally but seem quite unintentionally muddy. Go to Full Review

If The Collection had been satisfied to be a show about fashion, I would be recommending it heartily. Instead, the murky and unnecessary string of overwrought mysteries makes it sadly skippable. Go to Full Review

The action pole vaults all over the place and loses drama and impact. Go to Full Review

The Collection doesn't shy away from violence and conspiracy. While often a sumptuous watch, it too often strays into the gaudy. Go to Full Review
