Critic Reviews for The Conners Season 3
All Critics (6) | Top Critics (2) | Fresh (6) | Rotten (0)
TV comedies, especially good ones like "black-ish" and "The Conners," know when they have to "pivot," but especially know when to arrive back at the same place where all sitcoms eventually end up: In the warm, swaddling embrace of family.
"The Conners" can come off as ham-fisted when leveraging topical themes for its family dramedy... This time, though, the situations in ABC's flagship family sitcoms hit especially close to home.
This should hopefully provide a pretty rich setup for the rest of the season.
The Conner family has always been able to find the humor in struggling to get by, but the stakes have never seemed higher, and it's difficult to laugh at their all-too-real desperation.
Other than Superstore, no scripted show that takes place outside of a hospital is better suited to dramatize the anxiety, uncertainty, and absurdity of the pandemic.
What this [premiere] lacks in humor it more than makes up for it in heart. After all, the Conner family has always been America's look into the realities of the working-class family.

Dec 10, 2020100% according to critics. Under 50% according to actual real life people. THe divide continues. This show , like every other show that gets ran by a liberal nut job, is now just one big public service announcement that poor people will always be poor because they are hate filled , losers. Whites and mexicans will never be able to really get along and DJ brings along a token wife and kid. The only time the show feels like the original is when Dan gets mad and yells. Sara gilbert is a hag who should retire behind the camera where she belongs. No one wants 20 out of 30 minutes to revolve around the man hating , republican hating, general people hating Darlene, who says its fine that her teenage daughter is a slut that does drugs and talks back to her mother. Jackie is worth it though. Shes still the same funny crazy woman. I hate the narratives in the show. It went from a conservative family show to a liberal one. THAT was the true goal of Sara Gilbert manipulating the market into firing Roseanne. What we need, they say to themselves in their secret meeting rooms deciding the fate of everyone else, is to destroy every single conservative voice on television , radio, and movies. They won. They will continue to ruin our shows. Saved by the bell is my next review.

Dec 10, 2020The critics must be out of their mind. This show sucks.

Nov 25, 2020I'm still very impressed with the shows ability to keep me interested even after losing Roseanne. I've realized that I invested myself into the entire cast of characters thru over 30 years of viewing and I'm still eager to see how their lives play out. I miss Roseanne. But this is really good TV for those willing to give it a shot without her. Too many people are judging the show poorly based on the fact that Roseanne is gone. They need to watch it before they rate it!
-
Nov 25, 2020This show tanked when they got rid of its driving force, Roseanne.
-
Nov 16, 2020One of the few american sitcoms dealing with the realities of working class families. Thought-provoking and funny, with a great cast.
-
Nov 08, 2020Lowest ratings yet. They should not have removed Roseanne.
-
Oct 29, 2020Time for this show to be out out of it's misery.
-
Oct 29, 2020Why is this show still on. Cancel already. Had John Goodman said no, the show wouldn't even exist and Roseanne may still be on the air.
