The Crossing: Season 1 (2018)

Critic Consensus: Though somewhat derivative and overstuffed, The Crossing offers up just enough decent twists to draw intrigue.

Jude Ellis (Steve Zahn) works as the sheriff in the peaceful town of Port Canaan. However, the city gets turned upside down when refugees wash up on the beach, running from a country afflicted by war. The mystery gets more complicated when it's revealed that the refugees are fleeing from America itself, 180 years in the future. Now, the FBI is investigating this strange anomaly to find out the truth. Meanwhile, Jude is also seeking answers with the help of local deputy Nestor Rosario (Rick Gomez). On the refugee's side, Reece (Natalie Martinez) is searching for her lost daughter, Leah (Bailey Skodje). Events reveal, however, that Reece is part of the Apex, a group of genetically engineered humans with superpowers that started the war in the first place.

As it is The Crossing pilot is pretty boring. Not even the big mystery it spends so much time on is compelling enough to keep you watching.

Crackling mystery series a great choice for tweens and up.
