See more Kevin P @RT55971421 01/23/2025 A decent video game adaptation that’s hampered by the lack of stakes, action, and crazy animated transformations from the game, but still carries on with its old school visual charm and its likable cast of characters that the show breathes new life into with its original script and solid voice casting. The humor is admittedly hit or miss, but luckily the misses are rather tame and the hits are good enough to make the show worth a watch. I’ll admit, I’m kind of disappointed that the show deviates from the game’s gripping action-packed premise, but I respect that this show is doing its own thing with its more episodic and comedic format. I just hope we can build to a larger story with some more action in the later seasons. But for season one, I still had a good time and I’m glad that I can watch Cuphead’s beautiful old school animation without the need to play an insanely difficult boss fight.
