Director James De Frond, whose previous collaborations with Davis include the spy-thriller spoof Action Team, has a fine command of heist-movie conventions and gives the series a solid visual bedrock underpinned by Marli Wren’s nimble, genre-savvy score. No exposition, no resolution of the story, nothing. Was this an error by the streaming service or is this for real? Admittedly, the jokes were wearing thin by episode 5, and the narrator who seemed to be making clever commentary was slowly disappearing. So what gives?
