The Deep End: Season 1 (2010)

TOMATOMETER

Critic Consensus: A direct rip-off of countless other legal shows, The Deep End jades viewers with blasé rehashings of overly familiar themes.

Tv Season Info

The debut season of "The Deep End" follows the lives of five young attorneys who bond during their first year working for one of the most prestigious law firms in Los Angeles. As they tackle cases that often go against their personal morals, each struggles with a problematic personal life, and their hard-nosed boss offers little relief from their constant stresses.

Critic Reviews for The Deep End Season 1

All Critics (15) | Top Critics (11)

Nothing I saw inthe pilot has me wanting to make room for it on an incredibly crowded Thursday lineup.

It's actually kind of depressing just how obviously "The Deep End'' has been constructed of used parts from the likes of "LA Law,'' "The Practice,'' "Boston Legal,'' "Damages,'' "Eli Stone,'' and "The Good Wife.''

Trouble is, it doesn't feel all that fresh.

Nice cast. Otherwise, charmless. Airless. Lifeless. (Blah, blah and blah.)

Painfully tame and kind of pointless.

Jun 18, 2018 | Full Review…

It's just unfortunate that more care wasn't taken to create a show that feels fresh -- "The Deep End" is rather moldy.

Jan 28, 2010 | Full Review…

It lacks the ability to command attention the way those other shows do.

Jan 28, 2010 | Full Review…

The network is looking for a show that people will watch. This could very well be it.

Jan 28, 2010 | Full Review…

The Deep End is stupid. It is obvious and ridiculous and badly acted for the most part.

Jan 20, 2010 | Rating: 1/4 | Full Review…

At first glance, "The Deep End" looks more like plastic food: shiny, colorful and perfectly appetizing, yes, but ultimately unsatisfying.
